We know there are legitimate concerns with the ongoing legalization of medicinal and recreational marijuana across the State of Montana and the United States. Often times we share in many of those concerns and had to rectify them in our minds well before we applied for our cultivation and dispensary license in Kalispell. In the spirit of progress, we'd like to focus on the positive aspects of this incredible industry and what benefits our communities and county can reap by proactively embracing the many uses of cannabis.
Perhaps the second most optimistic reason to embrace legalized cannabis (the first is simply the individual's freedom of choice) is the job market and employment opportunities this can and will bring to Northwestern Montana.
Because there are very few large scale grow operations currently in the state, many of us small businesses employ a whole team of people to help run our business and serve our patients and customers. There are many positions available in the industry but some of the most common are well paid and in demand. The grow facilities need knowledgeable gardeners (Master Grower and helpers) bud trimmers, budtenders, delivery drivers, packaging and processing personnel and many more.
Come on Montana let’s do this! There’s very few booming industries that are appropriate for our state in that we don’t have Internet infrastructure the way huge metropolitan cities do. But why should California Washington Oregon and Colorado have all the fun?! We could a create proud industry in Montana and make great products, employ lots of people and be at the forefront of an enormous opportunity. I think we should have a public co-op statewide, “Made in Montana“ style set up and take that straight to the bank.
Again, there's some very real data that shows marijuana has negative effects if used out of moderation or on the wrong biological person but for many healthy and like-wise sick adults, the benefits of cannabis use are astounding.
There's so much literature and at this point observable PROOF in our friends and neighbors who medicinally use cannabis that I don't need to write a book here on the plant's benefits but we can imagine with a Montanan attitude towards responsible use that we could significantly lessen the anxiety and stress in our lives and expand our creative imagination and leisure activities with a natural product.

At Montana Canna, education and responsible use are the core of our business vision. We need to teach our children, friends, colleagues and neighbors the true risks and benefits of this drug and hold each other accountable to safe and moderated use.
